Buckwheat is a great plant for the impatient gardener.   It goes from seed to seeding plant in about 6 -8 weeks and vary rarely causes any problems in the garden.

The seed strikes as easily as Radish and it can be prepared in pots for planting out or planted in-situ where you want it to grow.

As a food source the seed is universally accepted as high in starch, protein, minerals.
